LEAVENWORTH COUNTY, Kan. (KCTV) - A jail inmate at the Leavenworth County Jail has been sentenced to prison after attacking an inmate earlier this year.

Christian M. Harris, 21, was sentenced to 23 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to an aggravated battery charge.

According to court records, Harris attacked another inmate during an incident on Jan. 27, 2025, inside the Leavenworth County Jail. Surveillance video inside the jail showed Harris approaching the victim and striking him with punches, court records said.

Harris’ attack only stopped when a Leavenworth County deputy entered the jail pod. The assault left the victim with a gash on his head and visible bleeding.

In January, Harris was convicted of using a jail phone to make more than 30 calls
