The longtime cafeteria director for Plymouth Public Schools has been charged with stealing commercial kitchen equipment and ordering lobster and other high-end meat through the district to stock his Cape Cod snack shack, prosecutors said Friday.

Patrick VanCott, 62, of Sandwich, is accused of stealing refrigerators, freezers, an oven, and other equipment—along with routinely ordering premium food—to supply his Snack Shack at Sandy Neck Beach, according to a statement from District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz.

VanCott was placed on administrative leave and arrested after a June 4 search of the Snack Shack turned up much of the alleged stolen property. He pleaded not guilty Friday in Plymouth District Court to charges of larceny over $1,200 by a single scheme and larceny from a building, acco
