NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - U.S. Rep. Mark Green (TN-07) has announced his retirement from the U.S. House of Representatives.

In 2024, Green retired and unretired after “countless calls” from constituents, colleagues, and President Donald Trump urging him to reconsider and run for re-election.

In November, he retained his congressional seat against Democrat and former Nashville Mayor Megan Barry. District 7 includes Cheatham, Dickson, Decatur, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Perry, Robertson, Stewart and Wayne. It also includes parts of Benton, Davidson and Williamson counties.

Green has been serving in the U.S. House since 2019. He is also a combat veteran, an ER doctor and a former state senator.
