PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A coordinated law enforcement mission on Sunday night led by Portland Police ’s North Precinct prevented multiple street takeovers across the city and resulted in multiple arrests, car seizures, and the recovery of guns and illegal drugs.

According to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB), the June 8 mission brought together officers from across the city.

Despite attempted gatherings by street racers throughout the city, no intersections were successfully taken over, according to police. Officials said it’s an improvement in efforts to crack down on what they say are dangerous, unlawful spectacles that have plagued Portland streets.
