DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- While it wasn’t on the agenda — eliminating classroom aide positions was a hot topic during the Central Dauphin School Board meeting Tuesday night.

Dozens of parents, teachers and community members were in attendance — as many were looking to learn more information on the decision behind removing middle and high school learning support paraprofessional positions.

“We were aware on Wednesday that we needed to attend a mandatory meeting with less than a 24-hour notice,” recalled Ashley Sanderbeck, a Paraprofessional.

Lori Neely Mitchell of Dauphin County added, “On Thursday afternoon, when my phone started lighting up, I was confused and alarmed. I didn't understand what was happening or why.”
