Eden Christian coach Mark Feldman took a page out of former Pirates manager Clint Hurdle’s book when dealing with last year’s loss in the PIAA 1A baseball championship.
The Warriors lost 4-1 to Faith Christian Academy in the school’s second-ever state title appearance, but they didn’t take too much time to dwell on the defeat.
“What did Clint Hurdle say?” Feldman said. “Shower well.”
Hurdle’s expression represents the importance of washing off negativity and not allowing it to seep into future endeavors. Feldman’s squad executed that well and now find themselves heading back to that same stage. Eden Christian romped District 9 runner-up Clarion, 12-1, Monday night inside Jack Critchfield Park at Slippery Rock University, earning a second-straight bid to the PIAA 1A title game.
