Rising country music singer Conner Smith was the driver of a truck that struck and killed a 77-year-old woman Sunday in Nashville, according to multiple reports.

Billboard.com reported that the 24-year-old was named in a release from the Metro Nashville Police Department on Monday. The outlet said the woman was identified as Dorothy Dobbins.

Billboard reported that police said that Smith was driving a Chevrolet Silverado when he struck Dobbins at around 7:30 p.m. They said she was inside a marked crosswalk when she was struck. Dobbins was reportedly transported to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died.
