OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Immigration operations in South Omaha prompted a Douglas County Commissioner to exit the board’s regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday morning.

“I apologize to the board and the public as well. I have to depart at this point. My community is being terrorized by immigration raids at this moment as we speak. There’s word of at least two raids happening at this moment, so I have to go and try and help,” said Commissioner Roger Garcia , who represents Dist. 1, covering South Omaha.
