DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A woman has been charged with murder in the death of an infant, according to the DeKalb County Police Department.

The woman, Tamara Salter, now faces several charges, including murder, cruelty to children and reckless conduct. Warrants indicate the 1-month-old had multiple fractures in her skull, including a 2.5-inch fracture in the back of her head that led to her death.

Last Wednesday, authorities responded to the 4400 block of Glenwood Road shortly before 2:40 p.m. after a baby was found unresponsive. Police said the infant was taken to the hospital, where they tragically died from their injuries.
