NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Even hours after flames were extinguished, the acrid scent of burning rubber still lingers in the air near downtown Nashville. A massive fire that broke out early this morning in the Nashville Public Library parking garage sent thick black smoke billowing across the city skyline and has left behind a scene of destruction and uncertainty.
“I walked around and I could see smoke coming out of it,” said Rubio, a local resident who was near the scene shortly after the fire began.
Rubio’s vehicle was parked on the second floor. Though still visible near the entrance, he says he hasn’t been able to retrieve it.
