CNN ’s chief data analyst Harry Enten on Tuesday revealed that immigrants who have become U.S. citizens (“immigrant citizens”) are aligning closer to Republicans than Democrats when it comes to tackling immigration .

Enten — in a segment with CNN’s Kate Bolduan — turned to an aggregate of polls showing how foreign-born voters “tremendously” moved to the right (by 40 percentage points) between 2020 and 2024-2025 when asked who they supported more on the issue.

“The group of voters who became more hawkish on immigration were, in fact, immigrants themselves, immigrants who are registered to vote in this country,” Enten noted.
