Elon Musk appears to be trying to make amends with Donald Trump by posting a partial apology on X in the dead of night.

The president and the billionaire have been engaging in a war of words on social media for almost two weeks after a falling out over the budget bill of which Musk has been highly critical, which in turn spiraled into various threats and accusations.

With the biggest "bomb" being Musk's accusation that Trump's name can be found in the files the DOJ reportedly has on accused pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, the president fired back with threats against Musk's businesses on Truth Social, and reportedly spoke about Musk's alleged drug use in talks with allies.

After a cooling-off period, Musk has now offered a mea culpa at 3:04 AM Wednesday–– but with a notable qualifier.

He wrote, "I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far."
