Erik Menendez Now: Convicted Killer Denied Parole at Hearing
A California board has deemed Erik Menendez “an unreasonable risk to public safety” and denied parole to the convicted killer.
Erik, 54, made his case for prison release before the board on Thursday, with older brother Lyle set to do the same via teleconference today. The hearings come just months after the Menendez brothers became eligible for parole when they were resentenced to 50 years to life in May.
Commissioner Robert Barton explained the board’s decision , primarily citing Erik’s behavior while incarcerated. His violations include drug smuggling, misuse of state computers, and incidents of violence.
