Wankum, an accomplished motorcycle racer who's used to competing on the Loudon course on two wheels, was invited to compete against other members of New England media outlets in the track's annual Media Racing Challenge.

"I'm serious, these tires are gripping so much. You think you're going to fly out the window of the other side. It's just an amazing experience. And of course, the spotter's telling me, 'You can increase your speed.' And I'm going, 'No! We're going fast enough right now!' Pretty incredible. That's what I have to say!" Wankum said.
