At roughly 2:27 p.m. on April 25, Wood Buffalo RCMP were told a bystander had stumbled across the body of a man later identified as Kurtis Atkinson of Fort McMurray. Article content

Court documents show a warrant was issued for Travis Austin Timmons, 34, of Fort McMurray on July 28. Timmons was arrested and has been charged with second-degree murder and interfering with a dead body.

Police are remaining tightlipped on details, although an RCMP spokesperson said the arrest is part of an ongoing investigation. Timmons remains in custody. His next appearance is scheduled for Aug. 25 in
