Toronto police have identified a man fatally stabbed in an east-end residence on Tuesday as 34-year-old Dwight Langille.

A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, and was scheduled to appear in an Ontario court on Wednesday, police said in a news release.

At around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of a stabbing inside a residence at Woodbine Avenue and O'Connor Drive.

Langille was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was pronounced dead, police say.

Duty Insp. Brian Maslowski, spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service, said Tuesday that the suspect and the victim knew each other.

Police are urging the public to contact their tip line if they have any information on the stabbing.
