Police have charged a man with arson following a house fire south of Fort McMurray last weekend after witnesses allege he was firing fireworks inside the home. Article content

Wood Buffalo RCMP say officers were on a routine patrol on the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation on Aug. 10 when they were flagged down by residents at around 11 p.m.. The officers were told of a house fire, and firefighters were called. Article content

After Regional Emergency Services extinguished the fire, investigators found fire damage limited to the kitchen and living room. No one was home at the time. Witnesses told police they saw the man setting off fireworks inside the home. Police located the man nearby and arrested him.
