Then, roughly 30 years ago, Randy Ruef, the sports editor of the Rockford Register Star, began a project to put together the rushing, passing, and receiving leaders from the conference every year. I have personally updated those numbers every year for most of the last three decades, which also includes the best single games in conference history.
