Kyndal Knight, an East Gaston High School graduate recently traveled to Singapore to compete for the United States at an international diving competition.

After taking seventh place in the competition with 21 total teams competing, Knight spoke about her journey in the sport and the future of her diving career.

In her younger years, Knight did gymnastics, and she was training in hopes of becoming a collegiate gymnast, she said.

After fracturing her back around age 15, however, she decided to walk away.
