A man from Lichfield has finished the mammoth task of running a marathon every week for a year to raise money for his local children's hospital.

Chris Caddy has so far raised over £5,000 for Birmingham Children's Hospital and run 1,326 miles.

He's started his 52nd and final marathon at Beacon Park on Saturday 16th August, at around 11am.

He told ITV News Central he was motivated to take on the challenge when he was thinking about his daughter, saying: “I’ve known quite a few friends who’ve had children in the hospital, lots of friends who work there”

“I’ve got a seven-year-old daughter myself, and the pain I feel when she’s ill, even with minor illness, I can’t comprehend how families with children in the hospital must feel.
