FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Multiple counties in Arkansas have issued burn bans as the entire state is in "moderate" wildfire risk.
The Arkansas Forestry Division shows 13 counties under a burn ban as of Monday morning: • Fulton • Izard • Sharp • Cleburne • White • Perry • Prairie • Jefferson • Arkansas • Lincoln • Desha • Drew • Ashley
On Monday, Sebastian County Judge Steve Hotz and Crawford County Judge Chris Keith issued burn bans for their counties.
The entire state is currently under a moderate wildfire risk, according to the Arkansas Forestry Division.
Under a moderate risk, "fire can start from accidental causes. May not become serious, but caution should be taken," the department said.
