Gov. Wes Moore ‘s chief of staff, Fagan Harris, is leaving the administration to be the next president and CEO of the Abell Foundation in Baltimore .
Harris begins his new role in January 2026. He will succeed Robert “Bob” Embry Jr., who in May announced his plans to retire after nearly four decades leading the influential philanthropic organization.
“Abell is a powerful catalyst for social impact in our city, and I am humbled to join this historic Baltimore institution,” Harris said in a statement Monday. “As this new chapter begins, I am committed to ensuring that the foundation’s work will remain deeply rooted in its core mission of improving the lives of the people of Baltimore.”
