Federal Way High School alum Jalen McDaniels has reportedly signed with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to Shams Charania of ESPN on Aug. 18.

McDaniels will now play for his fifth NBA franchise of his soon to be six-year career. Last season the forward was waived by the San Antonio Spurs and eventually signed by the Washington Wizards to a 10-day contract. He did play in four games for the Wizards last season, but only averaged 1.3 minutes across those four games.

His best season of his NBA career was in 2022-23 with the Charlotte Hornets and the Philadelphia 76ers. During that season, he averaged 9.3 points per game between the two teams and 4.3 rebounds per game.
