WOODWAY, Texas (FOX 44) — Midway Independent School District trustees have called for a November bond election which could reshape the future of several campuses.
The board voted to place an $83.5 million bond proposal on the ballot. Superintendent Chris Allen said the measure is designed to tackle deferred maintenance issues that have mounted across the district.
"The truth of the matter is we've been underfunded in — public education for some period of time, and we have things like broken air conditioners, buses that have gone end of life, plumbing and electrical, and all of our campuses, frankly, need some improvement," he said.
