LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - John Wall has officially announced his retirement from basketball. The five-time NBA All-Star shared his decision on social media.

During Wall’s one season at Kentucky, he averaged 16.6 points and 6.5 assists and guided the Wildcats to an Elite Eight appearance.

Wall was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. He quickly became the face of the franchise, revitalizing the fanbase and leading the Wizards to multiple playoff runs.
