The executive director of Portland Housing Authority, one of the city’s largest providers of affordable housing, resigned from his position earlier this summer after about two years in the role.

On May 30, Brian Frost submitted a concise resignation letter to the authority’s board of commissioners, saying his last day would be July 31 and that he was proud of the work the housing authority had done.

His resignation was not publicly announced by the housing authority.

In an interview Tuesday, Frost — who was hired as executive director in 2023 and had worked for the authority since 2020 — said he left because he felt ready to make a change.
