Evelyn Parts, who was a senior at Swarthmore College and captain of the women’s track team at the time of her dismissal, is suing the school after she was temporarily banned from participating during the winter and spring season. Parts, who initially joined the school’s women’s track team in the fall of 2020, was told she could no longer train or compete with the women’s team following the NCAA decision to ban trans women from participating in women’s sports.
“As stated in the complaint, the NCAA is a private organization that issued a bigoted policy,” said Susie Cirilli of Cirilli, LLC — one of the lawyers representing Parts. “Swarthmore College chose to follow that policy, disregarding federal and state law.”
