Life has been very difficult for Janae Parham and her family but Saturday’s annual “Shop with a Cop” brought her and her three children so much joy she couldn’t help but feel blessed.
“They’re still excited with all of the stuff they received,” said Parham, whose tone revealed a smile that has been lingering since her kids were treated to a back-to-school shopping spree at a nearby Meijer store. “It was a mood lifter. It was a spirit lifter. We don’t feel defeated any more.”
