GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — The Grand Prairie City Council on Aug. 9 approved annexing about 900 acres of land south of the city, just west of the Johnson County and Ellis County border. The acreage falls into a development called Goodland, by Dallas-based real estate development and investment firm Provident Realty Advisors. Goodland is a 5,000-acre master-planned community, south of Mansfield at the intersection of U.S. 287 and 360 Tollway.

The development currently has more than 700 homes, with 280 under construction by David Weekley Homes and Highland Homes, Provident Realty Advisors managing director Rylan Yowell said.
