NORWAY — The Norway Knights girls tennis team started its 2025 campaign in style Tuesday with a 7-1 victory over visiting Iron Mountain.
The Knights posted four straight-set wins and pulled out three third-set tiebreakers to earn the victory.
“I am very happy with today’s results,” Norway coach Cassandra Gustafson said after the match. “The new girls played well for their first match of the season. We had three tie-breakers and those can be intense, but the girls withstood the pressure.”
The Knights begin the season looking to replace three graduated doubles players and that effort produced positive results Tuesday when Norway swept all four of doubles matchups.
The top two doubles flights went to tiebreakers. At No. 1 doubles, senior Kara Stanchina and sophomore Lilly Tomjanovich edge
