LOS ANGELES – With the Sparks entering Wednesday’s game against the Wings a full game back from a playoff spot, the urgency and importance of a win were established before the contest even began.
“It’s a 10-game season,” head coach Lynne Roberts said. “We don’t have to go 10 and 0, but we’ve got to win more than we lose.”
The Sparks came out on top 81-80, but it took a Kelsey Plum game-winner to get it done.
Plum being the hero for Los Angeles isn’t surprising. These are exactly the kind of games where the Sparks have relied on her to come up big all season.
Plum is the team’s lone All-Star and is averaging 20.4 points per game. That’s more than any other guard in the WNBA.
However, at the start of the game, fans wouldn’t have imagined it was going to be a great night for Plum. She st
