RAWLINS -- Following one negative comment from a resident during the public hearing, the Rawlins City Council unanimously approved the rezoning of a number of properties along Spruce Street, changing them from Residential R-7.5 to Commercial C-2.
Prior to the vote during regular session on Tuesday, Aug. 19, Community Development Director Luis Lascano said this process was started in 2019, and it's intention is to "bring everything into compliance."
According to the council packet information, the Planning and Zoning Commission met on July 18 to discuss the rezone. During the discussion two Rawlins residents voiced concerns with the rezone changes. Previously the area was zoned Residential R 7.5 in a Commercial C-2 area - commercial business in the R-7.5 zoning which is residential 7,500
