The Minnesota State Fair isn’t Coachella, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t equally as passionate about camping out to be the first in line on opening day.
Meet father and son duo Scott and Nicholas Schwarz, who were determined to beat the crowds this year. KARE 11 writes the pair were “set to be the first fairgoers at 7 a.m. sharp to celebrate Scott’s birthday. They arrived at 7 a.m. Wednesday, just beating out Mary Jane Burgett and her parents, who had taken the unofficial first prize the last two years.”
Gov. Tim Walz was also among day one visitors to the fair this year, and WCCO TV spoke to the governor about his intentions for running for a third term in 2026.
