TOLEDO, Ohio — Whether you’re planning a road trip or just stopping to fill up after work, gas prices are always on drivers’ minds.

One type of fuel is standing out for being consistently cheaper: unleaded 88, also known as E15.

If you’ve stopped into one of the many newly opened Sheetz locations recently, you may have noticed it at the pump.

"I've never heard of it until you spoke of it," said Glen Berger while pumping gas at the Sheetz on Navarre Avenue in Oregon.

Turns out, many drivers haven’t. E15 is gasoline blended with 15% ethanol.

"It's rated for use in most modern vehicles, but smaller engines, boats, motorcycles, some smaller engines can't yet utilize E15 or the EPA warns against using it in small engines," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.
