Geddes, N.Y. — A 21-year-old Baldwinsville man died Thursday night after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Interstate 690 east near the New York State Fairgrounds, troopers said.
The crash happened around 5:57 p.m., according to Sgt. Jack Keller, a State Police spokesperson. Both the Suzuki motorcycle and a Ford F-250 pickup were headed east when the pickup driver changed lanes from the driving lane to the passing lane, Keller said.
The motorcycle then struck the back of the pickup, troopers said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
The pickup driver, a 36-year-old Syracuse man, was not injured. He was given a sobriety test at the scene and police found no signs of impairment. No tickets were issued, troopers said.
