REDDING, Calif. — The Redding Police Department's Neighborhood Police Unit recently spearheaded a major crackdown on retail theft and narcotics in the area.

According to the Redding Police Department, the operation took place on August 20 and resulted in 23 arrests over eight hours.

Of those arrested, 13 faced charges related to theft, six were charged with possession of controlled substances, and the remainder were arrested for outstanding warrants and municipal code violations.

The Redding Police Department extended gratitude to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for their assistance in the operation.
