Later this month, one of college football’s iconic voices and personalities will sign off one last time.

Longtime ESPN analyst Lee Corso will make his final appearance on “College GameDay” on Saturday, Aug. 30, when the show will broadcast live from Columbus, Ohio ahead of No. 2 Ohio State’s highly anticipated matchup with No. 1 Texas in Week 1 of the 2025 college football season.

Corso has been a fixture in the sport for multiple generations of fans, with his catchphrases, jovial temperament and iconic headgear picks serving as critical pieces in the larger pageantry of college football.

At 90 years old, Corso will be stepping aside after the first full week of the 2025 season, but not before a trip back to Ohio State, where he made his first headgear pick all the way back in 1996.

In advance of the beloved former coach’s final show, ESPN will air a special, “Not So Fast, My Friend” — a nod to Corso’s most famous catchphrase. The one-hour program will include interviews with ESPN personalities such as Rece Davis, Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban, as well as others from the broader football world such as Drew Brees, Kirby Smart, Dabo Swinney and Lane Kiffin.

The show will, in ESPN’s words, “highlight Corso’s extraordinary life, his larger-than-life personality and the immeasurable impact he has had on college football as a player, coach and broadcaster.”
