LARAMIE — Peter Eyabi didn’t know if his football career was going to continue this offseason.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound defensive end had good numbers at Riverside City College last season, finishing with 54 tackles, 11½ sacks and a forced fumble. He tallied 5½ sacks in his final five games.

Despite an early influx of interest when he entered the transfer portal as a junior, Eyabi’s phone soon went silent. He was contacted early by Idaho State and San Jose State, but both schools’ interest waned as the offseason progressed.

“Around December is the time to commit to (be eligible for spring ball), so I went back to my connections at Idaho State and San Jose State,” Eyabi told WyoSports on Monday. “They moved on. They didn’t text me back. So, I was kind of stressed.
