Mayor Mike Duggan’s Wednesday endorsement of City Council President Mary Sheffield for mayor drew a pointed response from her opponent in the race.
“Mayor Mike Duggan doesn't get the right to decide his successor," Rev. Solomon Kinloch Jr. posted on Facebook on Wednesday. "The voters in Detroit will determine the next Mayor in November. "
Kinloch went on to take a shot at Sheffield's accomplishments.
