RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police say their ongoing crime suppression operations led to major seizures and investigations across the Commonwealth between Aug. 13 and Aug. 19.

The statewide initiative — conducted with help from federal and local partners — resulted in the recovery of firearms, narcotics, stolen vehicles and cash, along with new leads in homicide and human trafficking cases.

Firearms and narcotics seized

Troopers reported recovering nine firearms, valued at roughly $5,500. In addition, police seized 87.8 pounds of illegal narcotics and 250 controlled substance pills, with an estimated street value of more than $825,000.
