NAGS HEAD, N.C. (WNCN) – On Thursday morning, as Hurricane Erin was more than 200 miles away from North Carolina, the high waves and strong winds were felt and seen all along the coast, including from the Nags Head Fishing Pier.
Andy McCann has owned the Fishing Pier and Restaurant for more than 40 years. He's seen many hurricanes and storms impact the pier and the Outer Banks during that time.
In his time owning the pier, he's witnessed a lot of memories made as well, including seeing children learn to enjoy fishing off this iconic pier.
