Earlier this summer I joined more than 75 people at the Stryker Center in Williamsburg to hear the compelling story of Washington, D.C. attorney Charles Holman.
Last summer millions of people were astonished after reading a Washington Post front page article about Holman’s groundbreaking genealogy research that proved that his ancestors were enslaved by the ancestors of former President George H.W. Bush. Fate brought Holman to Williamsburg as the keynote speaker for the 4th annual Journey to Racial Healing ceremony on June 21. His story begins in Virginia, about 70 miles from Williamsburg.
The event, presented by the Virginia Racial Healing Institute, was sponsored by Let Freedom Ring Foundation, Williamsburg Christian Church, Greater Williamsburg Movement and St. Martin’s Episcopal Chur
