Plants have not only shaped Paige Tailyn’s platform but also deepened her love for them through intergenerational bonding. She fondly remembers her early days of planting hibiscus and rose bushes with her grandmother, especially after her grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
These moments, along with her mother’s influence, helped bring her passion for plants to life. “[When] my grandma passed, we skipped a year of doing it, and I didn’t know that it would affect me as much as it did,” Tailyn told EBONY. “I was interning for the Royal Court at [Clark Atlanta University] at the time, and I said, ‘I kind of wanna run for Miss Sophomore,’ and they said, ‘Paige, I think you should, you’ve really blossomed,’ and that was like a light bulb moment for me.”
