DALLAS — Congresswoman Julie Johnson , D-32nd District, says she’s always had a strong personality.
So, when her favorite Dallas watering hole wanted to name a beer after her, naturally they called it the “Strong A-- B----.”
And the congresswoman wouldn’t have it any other way.
“They were all timid, like, we have a name, but we don’t know if you’re going to like it. And then they told me and I’m like I love it. It’s perfect,” she told us with a broad smile.
Representative Johnson is about to finish her first term in Congress, elected to the 32nd District after the previous office holder, Colin Allred, unsuccessfully ran for U.S. Senate.
She is the first openly gay member of Congress from the South and the first woman to ever represent the 32nd.
