Downtown Nashville office has plans to be converted into a hotel

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An office building in downtown Nashville will soon transform into a hotel.

Developers bought the Fifth Third Center, one of the city's largest office towers, on Church Street.

It's part of a uniquely Nashville trend since the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The Nashville hotel industry is obviously booming," Jan Freitag, the National Director of Hospitality Analytics for CoStar Group, said.

Freitag said that right now, there are plans to add thousands of hotel rooms to Nashville.

According to CoStar Group, in Nashville, there are currently 2,625 hotel rooms under construction, with around 20,000 hotel rooms being planned. Freitag said that the main reason is that people not only want to live and work
