NORTHFIELD — The suspect wanted for breaking into and vandalizing Hall Memorial Library on Aug. 13 has been identified, but is still at-large, and law enforcement believe him to have fled east.

A search warrant was issued by the Northfield Police Department.

“We’re hoping to get him arrested relatively quickly,” said Police Chief Jesse Colby. “Last we heard, he’s no longer in our area.”

On the morning of Aug. 14, Hall Memorial Library staff members entered the building to discover smashed glass from windows and doors, overturned library stacks, books strewn about and a chaotic scene of what is normally a place of fellowship and camaraderie.
