Connor Denning hit an eighth inning home run to put Yuba-Sutter ahead as the High Wheelers defeated Glacier 3-2 Friday evening at Glacier Bank Park.

Denning’s eighth big fly of the season came after Glacier plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh tying the game at two.

Yuba-Sutter (14-20) started hot as a River Orsak single and Bobby Lada double set up the first run of the game as Orsak came home on an error. Evan Berkey doubled later in the first to make it 2-0, scoring Lada.

The Range Riders (17-17) were held off the board until the seventh when Kingston Liniak came home to cut the deficit to 2-1. Kenneth Levari brought home Gabe Howell later in the frame to tie the score at two.

Denning’s homer stopped the comeback in the eighth, giving the High Wheelers the lead back.
