The Mud Hens secured a series win by taking out the Red Wings on Saturday.

Keider Montero got the start, and his teammates gave him a nice lead to work with. Akil Baddoo led off the game with a single and Trei Cruz reached on an error. Jace Jung drove a three-run shot out to right center field for a quick 3-0 lead.

Montero struck out the first two batters in the second inning but they allowed a Trey Lipscomb double, a walk, and a Francisco Meija single that made it a 3-1 Hens lead. Montero leaked another run in the third, and one more in the fourth. He finished with five innings and three runs allowed.

In the top of the fourth, Kevin Newman doubled with one out. Eduardo Valencia flew out, but Gage Workman walked and Tomas Nido launched a ground rule double to left field. Newman scored,
