RUSKIN, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was arrested Friday after deputies allegedly found a trafficking amount of methamphetamine in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy initiated a traffic stop at 5th Avenue Southeast and 2nd Street Southeast in Ruskin.
Deputies asked the driver, Joseph Perrone, 64, to step out of his vehicle after he said he didn’t have his license or registration.
Deputies said that when Perrone exited the vehicle, they observed pills on the floor, prompting a search. During the search, deputies found a plastic tub containing 15.9 grams of methamphetamine, as well as $12,043, syringes and multiple glass pipes.
