Malcolm McDowell won't be strolling the streets of Paris with Emily Cooper anytime soon.

The Golden Globe-nominated actor, whose son Charlie McDowell is married to "Emily in Paris" star Lily Collins, opened up about his feelings on the romantic comedy series during an interview with People magazine published Saturday, Aug. 23.

"To be honest with you, it's not my kind of thing," McDowell, 82, told the outlet. "And Lily knows that."

The beret-donning brainchild of "Sex and the City" creator Darren Star, "Emily in Paris" debuted on Netflix in October 2020 and follows the life of Emily Cooper (Collins) as she navigates life, love and work after landing her dream marketing job in the French capital.

The show, which stars Collins alongside Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park and Lucas Bravo, has racked up nearly a dozen Primetime Emmy nominations in its five-year run, as well as earned Collins a Golden Globe nod for best performance by an actress in a comedy series in 2021.

While "Emily in Paris" might not be McDowell's glass of champagne, the "Clockwork Orange" alum gushed about Collins' leading lady prowess.

"I'm the biggest fan of my daughter-in-law," McDowell told People of Collins. "I think she's absolutely one of the great actresses."

McDowell's son Charlie and Collins married in September 2021 during an outdoor ceremony in Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado, Collins revealed in an emotional Instagram post at the time. "I've never wanted to be someone's someone more than I do yours, and now I get to be your wife," Collins, 36, wrote.

Mary Steenburgen, Charlie's mother and ex-wife of McDowell, paid tribute to the then-newlywed couple in an Instagram post of her own, gushing that she felt like the "luckiest mother in the world."

"Thank you for letting us all bask in the sheer beauty of your love for each other," the Oscar-winning actress wrote alongside a photo of Collins and Charlie McDowell. "My heart is overflowing, and it almost feels like the last few days were some sort of beautiful dream."

In January, Collins revealed that she and Charlie McDowell welcomed their first child together via surrogacy.

As for the love life of Collins' character Emily, the upcoming fifth season of "Emily in Paris" will focus on Emily's burgeoning romance with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), an Italian fashion scion with big ambitions for his tight-knit family's cashmere empire.

"Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance," Collins previously told Tudum. "We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time."

Season 5 of "Emily in Paris" will premiere on Dec. 18.
